Nanomarkers
The laser method of Particular® is the only technology that allows the simultaneous generation of metallic nanoparticles and their attachment to functional biomolecules.
For the field of biomedicine, Particular offers nanoparticles as universal functional components. Nanoparticles have become important in this area for applications like the targeting of antibodies or aptamers, the transfection of gene vectors, the support of peptides for cell penetration, or nano-imaging for diagnosis in cell experiments.
Our specialty is the use of pure gold nanoparticles as nanomarkers: we bind gold markers to your biomolecules (RNA, proteins) to make them visible in the petri dish, in tissue, or in organs. As opposed to fluorophores, gold nanomarkers can be seen with good contrast both by light and electron microscopy.
In addition, gold nanoparticles can of course be used as transport agents (e.g. as non-viral gene vectors).
